If you want to join in one of the most popular things to do along the Mediterranean Coastline then jump on board a week long Turkish Gulet Cruise departing Fethiye. You spend 7 days and 6 nights taking in some amazing sights whilst getting to visit pristine bays for swimming and snorkelling. You depart Fethiye bound for Butterfly Valley, here its time for your first swim in the Med or you can hike into the valley. Afterwards you cruise past Europe’s most photographed beach, Oludeniz then anchor behind the Blue Lagoon. First night on board is at St Nicholas Island, where you can enjoy the sunset through the ruins. Day 2 you cruise to Kas, it’s the best spot for shopping or stocking up on snacks. Your next few days are spent in Kekova. There is plenty to see with the famous Sunken City of Kekova and Simena Castle. Day 4, in Demre Harbour you farewell some passengers that are on the shorter cruise and can go into Demre to visit the ruins of Myra. You then jump back on board and welcome new passengers to start the cruise back to Fethiye. This cruise, you see the same major attractions twice, which are always worth it, but get to see new things with different bays for swimming and sleeping in, on the way there and back. You can also undertake the optional activities of paragliding or diving. You’re on board a Turkish standard yacht. These gulets offer your own cabin (twin or double share) and solo travellers share with other solo travellers. All cabins have a private bathroom, so no need to worry about having to share. Cabin Cruise from Fethiye - Kekova - Fethiye
Boarding starts at 3.30 pm at Fethiye Marina. While you settle in, dinner will be served on the yacht, and we will stay overnight on board in Fethiye Marina. Fethiye, which known as Telmessos in the ancient times, was the most important city situated on Lycia’s western border with Karia. It believed that the city’s name came from Apollon’s son Telmessos. The city joined the Ottoman in 1924. The name changed many times over the years and was eventually named Fethiye in 1914 after the first Turkish AirForce Officer who was called Fethi Bey, crashed his plane and died here while on duty. In the south of the town, you will see many famous tombs and graves survived from the Antique Era and one of the most famous and most beautiful stone tombs is the tomb of King Amyntas. The ruins of a theatre recovered during the excavation carried out by the museum recently is in the city centre.
While you are enjoying the breakfast, we will inform you about the cruise programme and safety procedures of the yacht. We will set sail for Ölüdeniz. Our yacht will be anchored at Soğuksu Bay for lunch and swim. The next stop will be Gemiler Island. It is recommended to have an early evening walk on Gemiler Island and pay a visit to the Church of St. Nicholas. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Gemiler Strait.
In the morning, we will set sail early to cross Yedi Burunlar (Seven Capes) smoothly. We will anchor at Yeşilkoy Bay, which is close to Kalkan, for breakfast and to enjoy the sea. Then on the way to Kaş, we will have another break for a swim and anchor at Kaş Harbour. Here you will have the chance to walk around Kaş, which was an old Greek Town, and to experience nightlife in Kaş. Being one of the most important towns of Lycia, Kaş gained importance in Roman Times and eventually became the centre of Episcopacy in Byzantine times. Kas is a rich land with the surrounding cities that belong to the Antique period and with other historical values.
After breakfast, we will cruise for the Sunken city of Kekova. Here we will stop for a swimming break and lunch at Tersane Bay where you will see an old shipyard and from the Roman Period and a church from the Byzantine times. For the night, we will anchor at Üçağız Bay.
After breakfast, it is possible to have a short trip to the land to Kaleköy (Simena) during which you will have the chance to take some of the most beautiful photographs of Antique Lycia. Lunch will served at Gökkaya marina where we will anchor for a swim. For dinner and overnight stay, we will anchor at another natural beauty spot at Üçağız Bay.
After breakfast, we will cruise to Bayındır Bay and also enjoy the sea. After lunch, we will anchor at Kalkan Marina. Here an optional Lykian Cities tour can be organised. Santos, the capital of Likya, Patara the city of trade and harbour, Tilos the city of sports, Letoon that is the most important religion centre of Lycia region and the famous Saklıkent Canyon can be included in our route for this optional tour. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Kalkan harbour.
Your last day on the boat will be a nice and lazy start. You will wake up at St Nicholas Island where you can enjoy a morning swim and breakfast before cruising around to one of the bays near Fethiye for lunch and a final swim. You will then cruise into Fethiye Harbour anytime between 12:30 - 1:30pm after lunch for disembarking the boat. It is time to farewell new found friends and your friendly crew.
